Must hit rivers?-- Writing a Book

Greetings everyone,

After a year hiatus, I will be returning to the Upper Peninsula next May. I plan to travel across the UP for the greater part of four months.

This time, the purpose of my visit is to finish a book I started my Freshman year of college at NMU. The book, in its current state, is a journal that is composed of fishing reports and pictures from across the Upper Peninsula.

My intentions are to take this journal and turn it into a Personal Memoir that reflects back on my thoughts and experiences while trekking through the wilderness of the Upper Peninsula in pursuit of "trophy" trout. The purpose of the book is to encourage other people to seek out their own adventures in this great part of the state.

My intentions are genuine. I grew up in Southeastern Michigan and choosing to attend to college in the Upper Peninsula was the best decision I ever made. The Upper Peninsula changed my life and I would like to share my experiences in hopes of inspiring others.

Through internet research and my own personal exploration, I feel as if I have a good idea on places to start my quest. This is where I am asking for help. I am looking to expand search radius past the community holes that I know. Location is not an issue as I am willing to travel as far as needed to properly display the fishing opportunities that are present in the UP.

I know some of you may be apprehensive to share information with someone who intends to compose their experiences into a book to share with others. However, I want you to know that I have adopted guidelines similar to what we have here on Michigan-Sportsman: "Unmentionables" will have their names altered or withheld completely from my writings. I understand that some of our fisheries here are delicate and I won't do/say anything to jeopardize them in any way.

My initial idea is to break the book up into four sections: Brook Trout, Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout (steelhead included) and Salmanoids. I would like to give each section fair representation.

I realize that this is a sensitive topic for an open forum, so I am willing to continue this conversation through personal messages. I appreciate everyone willing to help me complete this project. Also, I am willing to answer any questions you may have about the book. Names of rivers will remain confidential upon request.

Once again, I appreciate any and all help. Perhaps some of you can even accompany me on my adventure when the time comes.

God Bless and Tight Lines!

--Brandon
