help on understanding arrow selection, aluminum

I started shooting a 45# recurve last year with aluminum arrows. a friend suggested 2114's. I made the mistake of cutting some shorter, and they seem to fly left, ( I am a rh), the ones I kept long w/ 150 gr tips seem to fly better. I know this is about spline, but can you correct things by going heavier/ lighter with the tips? Because I had never shot instinctive, I didn't know if it was the arrows , or me trying to figure inst, shooting out. Or should I just go with a place like 3 rivers, and go cedar shafts? thanks, anything you tell me, I didn't know
