I'm thinking of mounting my Humminbird Helix 9 onto a RAM Mount. I'd like to do this so I can adjust it's angle as well as face it forward on my center console to read from the bow while using the trolling motor. RAM is recommending the use of a "D" size ball system...2.25" in diameter. That is a very large apparatus once all the components are in place, and it just seems like a little overkill. Does anyone utilize the "C" size or 1.5" diameter ball systems from RAM? This would be a...Anyone with experience using RAM MOUNT on your Chartplotter?
