I am in need of help and I need it fast.

Ok so Sunday my wife got the phone call no one ever wants, her dad past away.

Now she has a 1TB external hard drive. The problem is it will not power up. Now given the emotional state of my wife upset because she just lost her dad. Giving the fact that this hard drive has tons of pictures of her dad and family on it. She really wants these pictures. So I go buy another hard drive thinking i could use the power cord. Well that doesn't work.
