Great Korean food-Grand Rapids

I'm a fan of all types of different foods. Sushi, Indian, Ethiopian, whatever. I'll try anything and have found I enjoy nearly everything.

Recently, a Korean friend told me about Seoul Market in Grand Rapids. It's on 36th, within sight of 131. It's not really a restaurant and is more of an ethic market with a small café. My friends mother is from Korea and she is an honest judge of "real Korean" food. Anyhow, she told me that I had to check out Seoul Market and boy am I glad I have done so.

If anyone likes great Asian food, I highly suggest you check this place out. The dining area is small and Spartan, so I've gotten carry out. However, if you want Bimimbop in the hot stone bowl, you have to eat there.

A personal favorite is the Jjamppong, which is a spicy seafood soup with shrimp, squid, mussels, green onions, Korean cabbage, onions and carrots served over thick noodles.

Also, of anyone really likes Kimchi, they have the best Kimchi I've tried. It's in the grocery section and comes on big glass jars. Don't leave without one!

Since the food is made to order, and it always seems busy, you'll want a solid 30 minutes for your order. So call ahead if in a rush.

Here's the reviews and quite a few pics of Seoul Market...
