What's everyone's take for spring 2017 surf and pier?

I'm gonna predict a slow spring. I think mild winters correspond with slow springtime fishing. I think that the river water ends up being colder than the big lake water. As a result the piers and surf do not attract as much bait and fish.

I also think the warm fall/winter encourages a lot of steelhead to run up river and over-winter there resulting in low spring run numbers. The spring steelhead run is a big part of the spring pier...
