VMC Moon eye jigs

I have seen some pretty good reviews for these jigs.
I want to order some for my nephew.
I am not sure what sizes/soft bait combinations I should go for, mainly bass and walleye.
It seems the 1/4 oz with a 4 inch grub may be a good way to go or minnow. Most of these seem to range in the 2 -2.5 inch range (although you can find 4 inch).
Then I was thinking maybe I should go down to 1/8 oz and pair it with something in the 2 inch range.
Anybody use these and what do you put on them?
