LSC 8 Sep near mouth of South Channel

Launched at Harley Ensign at 6:45 AM. Retrieved boat at 11:15 PM.

'Caught 6 Walleye in just under 3 hours. ‘Also caught 4 SMB, 1 N pike and a 4” perch on a RR800 - about the same size of lure he tried to swallow.

First fish of the day was 30 min into trolling, the last three were one right after the other. All walleye were 17-18”. Water was green w/5’ visibility. Temp was 69 degrees.

I used Lance Valentine's “low and slow” technique again today with all 3 lures set to run down 12’ but had almost no time to vary presentations. 12 fish, plus a few snagged weeds, and two runs back up wind, kept me hoppin’. All fish caught at SOG of 1.7 w/wind and current (Water speed probably 1.4mph)

2 1/2" Hot-N-Tot did best, then KHJ12, with RR the least productive, but I should note that the Hot-N-Tot was on the outside board and the RR on the inside board!! I wonder....

My trolling covered about 1.8 miles, but all walleye were within a 3/4 mile area. Lesson that paid off again: STAY ON THEM.
