Official Picture Scoring Thread for the 2016/17 Spearing Contest

ONLY POST SCORING PICTURES HERE.

Post successfully speared fish in this thread. Include your team name & number, screen name, and length of fish. A running tally of team scores will also be kept in another thread.

Make sure to adhere to the posting rules regarding clarity, closeup, and spears.

Publicly questioning posted lengths will result in disqualification. This is not the trash-talk thread. This is a fun contest and blittle913 and myself will panel-discuss questionable lengths privately.

A review of the rules:

Note: This is a "bragging rights" contest, just the same as the Deer and turkey team competitions. Random prizes, generously donated by fellow M-S members (and valuing nearly 1000 dollars), will be distributed.

Note: Prizes have been generously donated by private individuals. These individuals are not responsible for shipping costs. If the selected winner chooses not to pay shipping, they will be passed by and another winner will be chosen.

There are some minor changes this year so read carefully!

Rules and Scoring:

-Participants must be a registered member of the Michigan Sportsman Forums (new members are encouraged!)

-Northern Pike legally speared anywhere in the United States can be entered in the contest.

-Scoring will be length based using MDNR Master Angler measurement guidlines:http://ift.tt/2mIHDDz

-*NEW* The top 4 fish lengths from each team will be used to determine total team length, measured to the nearest 1/8".

-Only legally speared fish will be counted in the contest. The use of "cheater" hooks on decoys or treble hooked live decoys shall be prohibited.

-Fish must be speared by a registered team member to count.

-Entries from all legal waters (public and private) will be accepted.

-Each individual team member may only contribute 1 fish towards their total team limit of 4. However, individuals my upgrade their entries unlimited times (and upgrades are encouraged, because some prizes will be distributed based to number of entries/upgrades. The more one participates, the more chances to win!)

-A clear picture of the entire fish with a measuring tape next to it, and a close up of the claimed length must be posted in the scoring thread (to be created later). A spear must be present in at least one of the pictures. A 3" deduction per fish will be given for not having a spear in a photo.

This team contest will run from Dec 12th 2016, until dusk March 15th, 2017. Fish must be speared within these dates to count for this contest.
