The Walking Dead Beach Towel Is Perfect for Vacations on Dead Island

The winter was long and cold in many parts of the country, but thankfully it’s almost over for most of us. If you are gearing up to hit the pool, lake, or beach sometime soon you may need a new towel to take with you. Fans of The Walking Dead will be hard pressed to find a cooler towel than this.

This is a Walking Dead officially licensed towel that says “Don’t open, dead inside.” It has chained doors and zombie hands reaching through to eat the yummy meat sack on the other side.

The towel is made from cotton and no walkers were harmed in its construction. It measures 59″ x 29.5″ and can be purchased for $19.99(USD).

I’ve always wondered why no one set up camp on a beach since you wouldn’t have to worry about Walkers sneaking up behind you. The beach is a good idea unless Walkers can swim or creepily walk across the bottom of the ocean and pop out unexpectedly.

Chocolate Zombie Bunny: Happy Bloody Easter!

If I am being honest, I can’t see a bunny without thinking: “There’s the beast!” “What, behind the rabbit?” “No, IT IS the rabbit!” Monty Python and the Holy Grail if you didn’t know. With Easter coming soon, you may be looking for some cool candy and gifts to give the geeks on your list. They would love to find the Easter bunny left this behind.

It’s called the Chocolate Zombie Bunny. It’ looks like a deadly beast that would chew out your neck in a second, but it’s actually quite docile. Despite the green color, exposed ribs, and blood leaking from the mouth of the bunny, it’s actually made from white chocolate.

This was apparently a past April Fools’ product at ThinkGeek, and it has now turned into something real you can buy for $9.99(USD). Even better, spend $25 on other stuff and you can get one free while supplies last. Now get out there and lop its head off before it gets you with its nasty, big pointy teeth.

Amazon Acquires ComiXology

Founded in 2007, ComiXology has become a large part of the geek lifestyle and a major player in the comic book world. If you are a comic fans, it is part of your weekly reading. Now ComiXology is being acquired by Amazon.

The news has been largely positively received by users of the app. Amazon should certainly help this platform grow. Not everyone is happy though. Some people don’t like Amazon’s policies. However, those people need to take a deep breath. It just went down, so lets wait and see what happens.

Press release:

ComiXology’s mission is to spread the love of comics and graphic novels in all forms,” said David Steinberger, co-founder and CEO of comiXology. “There is no better home for comiXology than Amazon to see this vision through. Working together, we look to accelerate a new age for comic books and graphic novels.”

“Amazon and comiXology share a passion for reinventing reading in a digital world,” said David Naggar, Amazon Vice President, Content Acquisition and Independent Publishing. “We’ve long admired the passion comiXology brings to changing the way we buy and read comics and graphic novels. We look forward to investing in the business, growing the team, and together, bringing comics and graphic novels to even more readers.

Will this be a new age for digital comics? We sure hope so.

G-Pad Gamepad for GBA4iOS: Thumb Rubber

GBA4iOS is a popular Game Boy Advance emulator for iOS. The latest version lets you play Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance games without the need to jailbreak your device. The unavoidable downside of GBA4iOS is that you’ll have to use virtual buttons. AJ Design Studio wants to change that with the G-Pad.

The G-Pad is a rubber sleeve for the 5th generation iPod Touch and the iPhone 5, 5S and 5C that gives you physical buttons to press, which will in turn press the corresponding virtual buttons.

How fitting is that? A controller emulator for a handheld emulator. It has a glaring flaw though: it doesn’t have shoulder buttons. I’m not sure how the inventor missed that. Skip to around 0:50 in the video below to see it in action.

Is it just me or does the kid have unnaturally smooth hands and arms? It’s like he’s CGI. Anyway you can pledge at least $13 (USD) on Indiegogo to get a G-Pad as a reward. AJ Design Studio will make an iPad Mini version if it raises at least $25,000. I doubt it’ll get that far without shoulder buttons though.

Nintendo Thwomp Pillow Will Squish Your Wallet

Here’s a worthy weapon to bring to a pillow fight, an officially-licensed Thwomp pillow. If you’re wondering why Nintendo would bother releasing a merchandise for a semi-living obstacle, remember that in some Mario games these dudes are flat out invincible. If they could move Bowser wouldn’t be king.

You can order the Thwomp pillow from ThinkGeek for about $35 (USD) or from Amazon for $25. Or you could always just paint a cinder block and sit on that instead.
