Blind Setups in the Middle of Fields

Has anyone ever tried this tactic? I've seen it done on videos and have read about it, but I'm not sure I'd ever try it. The reason I ask is because I setup on one of my properties today, kind of blind not know what was gonna happen.I chose to setup where I saw birds late fall and winter in the hay field. My buddy needed a bird so I said lets head out in the morning. Walking out there this morning we bumped one bird on the field edge, and he flew across into the pines at the edge of the field. I'm sure it was a gobbler, because he was by himself.

At about 6:15 I jokingly said to my buddy "I bet there's tons of birds in the pines where he flew into." We didn't hear any gobbles at all on the roost until about 6:25 about 200 yards behind us. Just a little after 6:30 birds came out of the trees gliding into the field, I'd never seen anything like it before. When all was said and done, there were about 15-20 birds that flew into the field or walked right out of the woods. Had at least 4 toms out in front of us, and 2 behind us from a different roosting area. They cut into one set of the woods, then back into the field, then went to another section of woods and it looked like a white cat scared them so they came running back (besides a few birds that ran past the cat and kept going where they were headed) to the first section they cut through, where I now set the blind and saw birds later in the morning.

I talked to the farmer later in the morning and he said the birds usually hang out where they ended up going after they got scared. Should I just leave the blind where I saw them cut through? The only problem is that where they cut through is where the big gobbler was roosted that we bumped off, and I don't want to do that again. Kind of a tough situation. Thanks for any help, I'm especially hoping DEDGOOSE can chime in and help me out haha.

stolen Net, St joe boat ramp ( tackle haven )

Launched Last night for a little after work fishing, i leaned the net up against the side of the boat in the staging area loaded all the rods, reels, triple trees etc etc... everything but the net. left the staging area dropped the boat in the water and took off. i know the net simply fell on the side of the staging area. made it to the first bridge before we realized, turned around to get it and it was gone. there were only two boats in the parking lot, jerry lee sport fishing charters putting in and another private gentle man loading his stuff up.

its my fault for screwing up, but it happens and life goes on, just thought i'd put a plug out here in case somebody had good intentions.
