For a budget , your choice would be fine .
A seeable front sight a priority ,a hogue monogrip for it maybe, and away to carry something that can feel like it needs wheels after a few hours.

I use a Ruger GP 100 five inch. .357 Mag. Five a special run at times for a gunshop , but a compromise between 4 and six.
A six for accuracy ( in theory , the shooter matters, and four for concealing ,or sitting if carried on a belt.
Concealing not really going to be effective for most folks.
I use a tanker style holster.
Had a .44 Mag but it shoved me around too much.
A .357 rifle digests same ammo ,and a .38 wheelgun means .38' s for plinking in the .357.
Recoil tolerable in the .357 and if a wolf was chewing on you ,recoil would likely not be noted anyway.
