Any pike being caught in open water?

Whoever told you season is closed was wrong, still open until March 15, and opens back up April 29. Slow trolling will work, casting will also work. Had a buddy wack around 25 in the river mouth a couple weeks back. Pike like the cold water and typically will start heading up river to spawn as soon as ice out.
