Nice reels to go with the rod. I don't think you'd be disappointed. Some people like ML rods. I'd hate it for the 3/4 oz jig. I hate that spongy feel. I think M is just right, but that's a matter of personal preference. A lot of guys use MH as well. I have the next model up from the president on mine (the name escapes me right now).

Before using one, I thought going as short as 5'9" was crazy and I didn't think I'd like it. But, I do like it and since I fish solo a lot, it is easier to net a fish with the shorter rod.
