yes using your terrova to steer and gas motor for trust works great I do it in my 21' polarkraft.
I would suggest mounting the reels as far forward as possible, the more distance between you and them the less chance of kinking the cable and the better the reel with take up the cable.
as far as the prop goes......... it happens. some guys like to put the prop guards on the kicker, I never have. I depends how far outboard your kicker is, either way you'll have to watch your turns and when playing a fish make sure to turn that way to keep him out of the kicker.
