I refinished tubs for a while. There is no "reglazing". That would require bringing the temp up to about 1200 degrees. Refinishing is basically painting with very high performance urethane paint not unlike high end automotive paint.
I had good results refinishing tubs. I did my own over 10 years ago and its still holding up. I would guess 7-8 years would be normal if you follow your refinishers care instructions. Even after I quit doing it in peoples homes I used to buy old clawfoots, refinish them and resell them on line.
Back to your question. Personally I wouldn't recommend doing a kitchen sink. I think banging pots and pans, glassware etc. would damage the finish.
