What makes for a good cp rod?

Fast or slow tip?
Light or med/light med?

Im pretty certain ill want something in the 11ft range, just picked uo my first reel, a matrix xl.

Fishing steelhead, nw lp. Anything from the big man, bear creek to the platte and betsie.
