Frustrating

I agree, it can be frustrating to your home water be overrun, but then I remember I fish because I love it and it and everyone else is fishing for their own reasons. I love helping new anglers that I encounter if they are struggling or just trying to figure it out. I don't tell them about where I fish, but will help them if I can.

I have found my homestream has developed cattle paths down the banks and gets pounded relentlessly all winter/spring, it used to be vacant all winter. My solution when I feel it's too crowded is to move onto less crowded, virtually unknown steelhead haunts (not all streams need to be planted or conducive to reproduction to get an annual run). Though these rivers and streams do not get the amount of fish, the lack of pressure usually allows me to hook and catch just as many as I would at a more mainstream steelhead fishery.

Spring is just around the corner, the time of year where most of my serious fishing is all but over and I move to more crowded areas (dams, etc) to enjoy the show. The entertainment value of being at a popular locale can make up for the lack of serenity some days.

Why is it that you've fished a nice steely hole for years, usually all alone. Now you know other as have fished it at times but generally there is no one there. Then one day you get there and there are 2 guys there, no big deal, until you see the one guy constantly on his phone and suddenly 4 more guys show up sheesh I don't get that. And before anyone says anything, yes I'm whining.
