Tying a few feet of line to a long stick with the bark whittled off, using a small twig as a float, and HAMMERING Green Sunfish, Orangespotted Sunfish, bullheads, and BIG Golden Shiners, with redworms as bait. Most. Fun. Ever. Forest Park, St. Louis, MO, visiting family.

Years ago I worked in Yellowstone. While my sister was visiting, I took her fishing in the circus of the Yellowstone river. She didn't fly fish so I grabbed us a couple of spinning rods. Fish (and fishermen) were everywhere but none were hitting. The few feeding fish I saw were taking huge stoneflies from an earlier hatch. None of the fly fishermen were catching any either though. Then I noticed what the stonefly nymphs looked like. I took a Rebel crawfish, the smallest size, with one hook...
