How many of you use a fountain pen on occasion? Do any of you remember writing with one back in school?
In the elementary school I went to, once we started writing with pens, we had to use a fountain pen. We were not allowed to use a ball point pen until the 6th grade. Recently, I decided to acquire a fountain pen, probably more for nostalgia reasons than anything else. Rather than order one online, I preferred to find one in the store so I could look at it first. I eventually found what I wanted and bought them the other day at Staples. I picked up a Cross Aventura on sale for $20. I was not about to pay more than that. You can find some online that go up to $100 and more. It writes very smooth and I think it makes the writing look much better than using a ball point. Of course, if you can not write in cursive and can only print, then a pencil will do the job for you. I also picked up a pack of two disposable Bic fountain pens for $4.99. They are not quite as smooth as the Cross, but they work well.
I am now have to practice my penmanship. Writing looks so much better in real ink.
