Apple trees

Dark, dry and cold to store them. I bought apple and pear trees about 5 years ago from TSC. I bought 15 and planted them in two places on my property. I have 3 left and they are nowhere close to bearing fruit. A failed experiment for me. But, my father in law did the same thing for his yard 10 years ago and because of his absolute focus on their health (watering, spraying, fertilizer, weed control, etc.) his produce very well. Now, when I want a 5 gallon bucket of apples I have to stop by his house. ha.

I just ordered 15 from Morse. Going to try their quality. More expensive. But, I am hopeful the stock will be better providing more durability as I can't water, spray, etc. consistently. The biggest issue I have is getting them in the ground. Each year the winter gives me great ideas and plans. Then spring comes and it is always more wet than I expected and there is less time. Trying to get the ground ready is a 6 week process but I generally only have 3 weeks to do it. A challenge I have yet to figure out.
