Give it a try, and circle back for a report, once you have fought a/some Steelhead with it. I haven't fished with those reels, but if they are a 1:1 gear ratio, with no drag, I recommend keeping your hand clear of those handles, if a Steelhead makes a hot run. Them's knuckle-bustin handles. Steelhead run faster, and pull harder than any Panfish.
