Fishing in East Tawas Area with your dog

Does anyone know of any fishing areas in the East Tawas Area that it's alright to bring your along dog with you? I know the pier in town is good but we can't bring our dog there. It's nice to get her out and do a little walking in the woods for exercise plus she's really part of the family.
