Long time lurker...1st time poster.
After 21 yrs of steelhead fishing I just recently took up float fishing and really enjoyed it. As someone who makes my own tackle whenever possible I thought I would give float turning a try. I was happy with how they turned out so thought I would share....Here are my first attempts:
I hand painted the brown trout pattern on the sides. Do you experts think this would spook fish? Just curious as I enjoyed painting it and would do it with future floats if it is not detrimental. These would mostly be used in deeper holes on the Muskegon and Manistee rivers.
Also - for those of you that turn your own floats, what type of paint are you using to dip the colored top with? I tried a few things from the craft store but they were all too thick and I didnt like them. I ended up just brushing on my artists acrylic paint.
Thanks
Matt
