My brother and I fished a trib. of a decent sized unmentionable northwest of Gaylord on Saturday. I found a new (for me) stretch of water that was just awesome. The catching was tough with a high sun and lots of wind. Throw some craptacular casting in the mix too - it happens. We managed three keeper brookies and a few small ones in about 2.5 hours, but I spooked one that was pushing 14. Lots of deep holes, undercut banks and plenty of twists and turns. Can't wait to put a half day here maybe in September or fish it in lower light conditions. Worms and spinners were our baits of choice and we did not see another human soul - amazing for Mem. weekend! Bugs were minimal due to high winds.
