I've had an issue with my quad's front differential and cage, locking up since the quad was new. 2011 Polaris 800 EFI.

The plastic cage was replaced with the aluminum cage a few years ago. The dealer told me that I had to "frequently change" the front gear lube, which I have.

I changed it late last fall, just before the snow started and only used it for plowing snow. It worked fine all winter. Now here I am in the same situation again

It appears that the cage is locked up in reverse, as the machine will roll to the rear very easy. However when I roll it forward, it only moves about one tire revolution and it starts binding.

Anyone know of a similar problem that someone had and more so, how can it be fixed? I don't feel like tearing that whole front end apart, just to remove, disassemble and clean that front differential... again. Maybe it would be better to just order a whole new front transaxle case????

 Aggravates the living heck out of me........ -
