Fall Food Plot

Hey guys.. I'm going to be planting a 1/2 acre food plot and need to know what to plant and when to plant it. I have heard oats are a great fall food plot but wanted to get some opinions. I want something that deer will eat after the first frost. Also, when should I plant it? Any help would be appreciated!
