Fishing line

I'm going to try to get out on St. Clair for the first time this week. I generally fish inks and lakes using 8 pound mono. I lost the occasional lure to pike unless I'm fishing specifically for pike and run a wire leader.



When fishing on St. Clair what do you run? I've been thinking about adding a flourocarbon leader or possibly just sucking it p and going to all flourocarbon. Just looking for some input.
