Range road is finally open

Although it was windy at the house, it was a little more windy at the range. Wind ran between 9 and 17.6mph according to the wind meter and the gusts were frequent. The whole range day was learning to find a steady shoulder anchor point and shooting off a front rest only.

I sent 10 rounds at 200yds with two of them I'll call, "I don't knows". I made no attempt to change the turrets. I'm calling the 8 good in that wind. It wasn't easy trying to determine the proper trigger pull and the wind. Target shooting without a rear rest isn't as easy as some may assume.....

Now I'm not totally sure what happened when I stapled a target up at 300 yards. I'd like to say part of it was the wind, yet I have a feeling I was pulling the rifle back into my shoulder harder than when shooting at 200yds. Ended up with 3 high and about MOA, with the other 2 I'll call "I don't knows". The bull shot felt perfect when the trigger broke. The other..... well rust and the need for more practice...
