For those who live on or near Lake St. Clair

My wife and I recently looked at a home on m29, across the road from homes with water frontage on Lake St. Clair.



We really liked the home and it's in our price range. Since we don't know anyone who lives that close to the water we were wondering if there are any special considerations to think about when buying a home that close to such a large body of water. (ie: flood insurance, weather off the lake, etc.)



If anyone with experience living on the lake would chime about additional costs, expenses, projects, benefits, disadvantages, etc. that you find yourself taking on because you live on or close to the water it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
