Oakland County Hunting

So I got a couple question for those that have hunted state land and parks in Oakland county. Do you have much success? I have heard that the first couple weeks of archery can be pretty good but once every Tom, Dick and Harry gets out the hunting get worse. > ?? I have scouted my little honey hole on some state land by my house and feel confident that I will at least fill a doe tag with it, and to me that's a great success on some state land that I've never hunted before.
