building a mud motor

I know this topic has been talked about before, but I am looking for some incite. I am in the process of building a mud motor in the off-season for my 14 foot deep v. My question is, what is the preferred model motor for a boat like this? I have been looking into a 9-11 horse, but am open to all suggestions. Thanks for the input. All other suggestions not involving the motor model are also appreciated.
