I am beginning to think what is going to be my biggest problem going forward is stand placement and access to them. I hunted Sunday afternoon for the first time using a permanent ladder the last owner must have put up so i hung a stand there just to see because the wind was right. Saw a bunch of deer but i have to walk past the verry edge of what i would say is a core aera at the road side where the gate is and i jumped deer both on the way in and the way out and this has happened many times hunting and even before season i am walking on the mowed drive but i have a trail cam pics of deer bedding 20yds from the edge by the driveway, this aera is about 5 acres and i will hunt down in there later when i find a stand spot, but it is thick and its wet ground at the back of this aera. So when you talk access and you are needing to get into a stand site thats not on the edge of the property what is the best plan? Clear a path and try to be as screened as possible? What to do if this is not really possible, dont bow hunt that stand or only hunt the evenings and if you bump deer out of the other spot on the way out oh well? I can come in from the other side but its 1/4 mile through wet swamp so i wont be sneaking up on anything and last time i walked it i bumped deer out of the other side of the same core aera by the road.
