Went with a buddy Friday out of Muskegon. Set lines in about 90 feet at 9:00 after a slow, rough ride into the waves. Had second rigger just set at 50 feet down when it went off with a 7 lb king on a glow froggy spoon. Ten minutes later the 3 color goes off on a mixed veggie/black spots took a 10 lb king. Fifteen minutes later had a double going off the riggers on the same glow froggy and a mixed veggie set at 70. Half hour later picked up another king on a small blue dolphin slider off the 70 foot rigger. Had a couple other knockoffs on the riggers, and picked up one more king, but then they died. Thats when the short lead cores took over. A two color with a snap weight took a few steelhead on an orange/silver spoon, and the 3 color took some more as well. Also lost 4 or 5 on the same lead core rigs. Ended up with 9 nice fish. Never went deeper than 130 feet and caught most of them in 115 to 125. Didnt matter which direction we went as fish were caught going all directions. Only saw one other boat out. Waves werent too bad after setting up and was a great way to end the season. Time to winterize the boat and pack it in for another season.
