Marlin Model 60 VS Ruger 10/22

I am trying to make up my mind I am looking at the basic Marlin Model 60 with Walnut Stock and the basic Ruger 10/22 Basic Hardwood Stock. The Model 60 is the cheaper of the two firearms. Both from what I understand shot the same very the most part. The purpose is for taking small game in a non survive world but with the thought of just case the **** hits the fan a quiet firearm for taking game if need be.
