Lending a rifle

how come a rifle with a scope sighted in for one person sometimes won't work for another person?



Stepson barrowed a rifle he's never fired, he insists that the scope is zeroed so he shouldn't need to check it.



Now I've seen for myself that a rifle that worked for me didn't work for my brother. Why?



I'm just looking for an answer to the argument.
