Last day gills/crappie

Well today was the last day of my icefishing for the year before I return to South Carolina tomorrow.

My dad and I fished a canal between the raft and Algonac from 7:30am-6:15pm. Weather started out great but you all know how that ended.

Anyway, we managed to put about 20 gills and a crappie in the bucket. Nothing huge but good eaters. Saw some big gills and crappie. Had a couple nice crappie come unbuttoned at the hole. All in all not a bad day.

Caught all my fish on a gill pill in pink/chartreuse, copper color tear drop, and a pink/glow tungsten tubby with a blood worm soft plastic. Tipped the jigs with a spike or two or a moussie. Moussies were the best bait for me in the afternoon.

Again, I'd like to say thank you to all of those who offered the tips, hints, and suggestions on where to fish on my 3 day season. I'm sure the fishing would have been better had I not brought this wonderful weather with me.
