Portage Lk/Channel

Hi All,



I could use some advice. I'll be staying on the south side portage lake this weekend. I won't have my boat with me, my question is what will the salmon run be looking like in the channel from Lk michigan into portage lake? Is it fishable? I haven't fished that area before, so any help would be greatly appreciated. I would love to have a crack at a salmon or two.
