Landing net

I use a cheap little Eagle Claw retractable line dealio. I cracked the frame putting a 5 lb Coho hen in it, but it is still working just fine. When I am fishing for fall Coho, I want that spawn for sure. If I finally manage to break it, the key word is 'cheap'.

For stream Trout, I find that Ultra-Light rod + 4 lb test + short distances = a lot of spark left in the Trout when you get it close, particularly with stream Rainbows. So I usually bring the little net, except in very heavy cover.

Haven't graduated to wading for Steelhead yet, I fish those at the beach.
