Wisconsin Winter Trout Fishing

Returned from my annual 3 day ice fishing trip of Racine & Milwaukee harbor areas. Between my brother & I we managed 6 browns as well as a bonus gator.

Biggest brown was 11.75lbs while the gator went 6.5lbs.

5 of the browns as well as the gator came on Slammers using shiners with one lone brown was taken jigging a white tube jig. Nothing on spawn or shrimp.

Great ice, 6-8" thick, but was black & slick requiring creepers to navigate. (It was a real trip seeing your fish through the ice underneath your feet while fight it).

Angler pressure was very light during the week & average on Saturday.

Hot shore lunches of venison burgers, venison tenderloin, & venison sloppy joes hit the spot as the temps didn't get above 20 degrees during the trip.

Already planning the return trip strategy for 2018.
