STAY OFF HAYMARSH!
Long time stalker, first time poster, because this is important.
I was on the North Lake on Haymarsh Friday morning and before last night's snowfall, you could see where the moderately good ice was compared to the rotten stuff.
Forward to this morning, I'm first on the lake still on the safe ice. Next guy out wasn't 30' away on what looked like good ice when he broke through. You CAN'T SEE the bad spots with this new snow cover. That's 20' of stand up and drink water. By the time I could get to him, only head and shoulders out of the water, but I got him out.
STAY OFF HAYMARSH!
Moderately good ice was 2 1/2" of black ice and 3" of crappy frozen slush on top. Bad ice was less than one inch total.
